Performer Conceived Performances
 
Using techniques from Theatre of the Oppressed, Viewpoints, and Viola Spolin, integrated with her own style of ensemble-driven generative process, Carrie focuses on the individual performer within the context of the needs of the production.  Supporting individual goals, she provides a balanced and structured process for performer conceived performances.  
 
Carrie has studied theatre and directed in both the United States and abroad, including; France, Germany, Spain, England, Holland, Thailand, and Bali, Indonesia.  Her studies have included time with Richard Schechner, Ming Cho Lee, Constance Hoffman, Ralph Lee, Gavin Bolton, Lowell Swortzell, Jeffrey Sichel, Gregg Henry, Erik, Ehn, and Jon Klein, and workshops include Edward Albee, Lee Blessing, Philip Himberg, Stephen Wadsworth, Oz Scott, Michael Ritchie, Roger Guenevere Smith, David Henry Hwang, and Michael Garces.  She has studied at Loyola College in Baltimore; Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand; Kings College in London, England; New York University; Catholic University, and HB Studio.  Carrie also studied International Arts Administration with TISCH’s graduate program.
 
Carrie has worked in various positions with many prestigious theatre companies including; Sundance Theatre Institute, The Kennedy Center, The Provincetown Theatre in New York, Signature Theatre in DC, Arena Stage, Center Stage, Woolly Mammoth, Pensacola Little Theatre, Run of the Mill Theater in Baltimore, TISCH (NYU), and Fell’s Point Corner Theatre.
